The school was a lifelong dream of Jack Cummings. He put everything in motion, and spent many hours refining and fine tuning the curriculum for the school. We were very saddened to loose Jack to covid before he could see his plan come to be. Jack's dedication to the Lord and bringing the lost to Christ, is our drive!

WHAT CAN CHURCHES DO TO HELP THIS SCHOOL?

The West Freeway School of Evangelism is designed for all members of the church to come and learn the art of evangelism. What can you and your congregation do to help?

Provide internship opportunities.
HomeMission is currently providing three salaries, but more support will be needed so that HomeMission can continue to focus on its primary task-renewing struggling churches.

WHY IS THERE A NEED FOR A SCHOOL LIKE THIS?

A recent study has indicated that most preaching schools and universities are doing a good job of ministry training, however the emphasis of evangelizing is somewhat lacking. Another study of church growth in America shows that the church is losing members, and evangelism is at an all-time low. According to an article in the Christian Chronical, every year almost 35 plus churches of Christ close their doors in America. Unless we learn how to evangelize, this trend will continue. The classes offered will not only increase your knowledge of scriptures, it will also increase your confidence to share your faith and knowledge with others.

WHEN WILL THIS SCHOOL BE READY TO OPEN FOR ONGOING CLASSES?

Starting August of 2022, this school will open and will be taught by several members of the church who have proven track records and experience in evangelizing and teaching the lost the precious gospel of our Lord. The classes and curriculum will be designed in such a way that many members in the Metro-Plex will be able to attend different classes in the evenings or week-ends. Starting out, the school will be Monday-Thursday, Friday will be a study day, but in the near future, we will be adding evening classes and virtual classes. The students will not be charged to come to the school. We will be working to obtain scholarships for the students to include housing for student and family.

WHO SHOULD ENROLL AND START ATTENDING THIS SCHOOL?

Any faithful Christian who wants to learn how to lead others to Christ
Preachers who want more advanced training in soul-winning
Recent graduates of preacher training schools or Christian colleges
Deacons of evangelism or elders who want to be able to train others

This school will serve as a training ministry for anyone who desires to increase their knowledge of scripture, ability to teach the lost and become more effective in communicating the Word of God to their friends, neighbors, loved ones or co-workers. Leading the lost to Christ, and keeping people in Christ, is the mission of the church. Evangelism is the method Jesus has given us to get the lost to the cross. Evangelism means we must know the message and have the ability and confidence to share that message. Classes and class dates will be announced in the near future.
